The Fourth Of July Spectacular At Jones Beach

Love fireworks? Love the beach? Then what's better than a spectacular Independence Day firework show at Jones Beach? Bring the whole family down for fun all day and into the night.

Throughout the day there are family friendly venues along the boardwalk where you can grab a bite to eat, make a snow cone, or participate in a live magic show. Then as night falls you can get excited as the anticipation for one of the greatest firework shows around gets ready to take the sky.

As the star-spangled banner begins to play and the first of many fireworks go off, the beach stands still and all eyes are on the sky. This is followed by nearly a half-hour of stunning fireworks bursting in the night sky over the Atlantic Ocean, all synchronized to stirring patriotic tunes

It's a day that will be continually looked forward to and always remembered. For more information about the Firework Spectacular, check the official website as the date grows closer.

2010 Jones Beach Memorial Day Air Show

The United States Navy's Blue Angels will be headlining the 2010 Jones Beach Memorial Day Air Show, and as always are ready to wow the crowd. The Jones Beach Memorial Day Air Show is always a guaranteed day of excitement and fun!

The Blue Angels are always a crowd pleaser, whether it be their diamond loop, watching them climb the sky at a perfect 90 degree angle or witnessing a sonic boom as they soar past faster than the speed of light. You get an inside look on what tricks of the trade our Navy uses to help defend our country.

Along with the Blue Angels, some of the best civilian and military aerobatic performers take to the sky for this exciting event. Other highlights of the show include the New York Air National Guard Search & Rescue, who drop out of their plane right into the ocean. Or the Red Bull Race Pilots who parachute right onto the beach in the middle of 200 thousand people.

Along the boardwalk there are also about 50 different food vendors to make sure you don't go hungry, and about 30 different souvenir shops to make sure you don't forget what a great time you had. There's also many fighter planes that are no longer in use on display for exhibiting throughout the day.

The demonstrations begin at 10 am, and go until 3 pm, without a drop of energy. What could be more exciting on a nice summer day, than seeing the men and women who serve our country have a little fun at our expense? Wantagh - The Gateway To Jones Beach

"Welcome to Wantagh - The Gateway To Jones Beach." This nostalgic sign that's located at the intersection of Wantagh Avenue and Jerusalem Avenue is a reminder of the beauty that lies just a few miles south from the town that we call home. We often get caught up in the idea of taking a trip away, and we don't realize how much we can do if we stay home. So, why not take a "staycation" this summer and take in all that our hometown has to offer?

Jones Beach State Park is not only home to a beautiful beach, but it hosts many events throughout the summer that make for a nice family day out and about in the sun. During memorial day weekend, Jones Beach and Bethpage Federal Credit Union host the annual Jones Beach Memorial Day Air Show which is a day filled with aviation demonstrations right over the sandy shore. Jones Beach also hosts it's annual 4th of July fireworks show, which is a night of displays that you surely don't want to miss out on. Not to mention, Jones Beach is also home to one of the greatest theatres around, the Nikon Jones Beach theatre, where musical acts from every different genre perform throughout the summer months.

If nothing else, why not take the family down to the beach for a fun day in the sun. Take a walk on the two mile long boardwalk where there is always time to stop and grab some Friendly's ice cream. Or stop by the mini theatre where is a variety of free shows and concerts. Get in a game of mini golfing, take a dip in one of two pools, or just bring some shovels and pails and build an impressive sand castle. There is never a shortage of activities to enjoy at Jones Beach State Park, and we should all try to take it in more.
